By following these simple steps, you’ll protect your tattoo from infections and help it heal flawlessly—keeping the colours bold, the lines crisp, and your art looking incredible for years to come.
Dynarex Viewguard has been applied to your tattoo. This semi-permeable membrane protects the tattoo by allowing oxygen to pass through while retaining your body’s natural healing fluids, which promote faster healing and reduce the risk of scarring. Leave the dressing in place for 4–24 hours.
When removing the dressing, do so carefully in the shower. Gently cleanse the area with warm, soapy water using only your clean, bare hand, avoiding scrubbing or contact with abrasive surfaces. Pat the tattoo dry gently—do not rub.
Failure to follow these guidelines may compromise the healing process and increase the risk of complications.
Allow the tattoo to dry for approximately one hour. Then, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion, ensuring it is fully absorbed by the skin—a little goes a long way.
Only reapply lotion when the skin begins to feel tight, dry, or slightly flaky.
During the healing process, wear loose, breathable clothing, preferably made of cotton, to support comfort and proper healing. Tight garments or areas of friction—such as bra straps or waistbands—can irritate the tattoo and may interfere with the healing process.
Sun protection is essential for tattoos. UV rays can damage both fresh and healed tattoos, causing colors to fade, lines to blur, and whites to yellow. Protect your tattoo by keeping it covered with clothing or applying broad-spectrum sunscreen, helping to preserve the vibrancy and longevity of your artwork.
Avoid prolonged exposure to water. Excessive moisture on a fresh tattoo can soften the skin, potentially causing weeping, blistering, or, in severe cases, ink loss. To prevent this, avoid long baths, hot tubs, pools, saunas, hot yoga, and similar activities until the tattoo is fully healed.
Use lotion sparingly. Applying too much lotion can clog pores and may lead to acne breakouts.
Allow your tattoo to rest. Refrain from activities such as competitive sports or intense workouts for a few days to prevent irritation and support optimal healing.
Do not pick or scratch. Attempting to manually remove flaking skin can cause premature ink loss and interfere with proper healing. Allow the skin to shed naturally.
We repeat, DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK! Big no-no.
A tattoo should take 2-4 weeks to fully heal.
