As someone who had never worked in — or really been a part of — the tattoo industry, I came into this job not knowing what to expect. Alfie hired me to manage social media, help get the shop set up for his staff, and ultimately create a central hub where both new and longtime clients could find everything they need about Yellowjacket Tattoo Inc. Since then, I’ve built a website, am working towards an online store, and fresh new socials for the shop.

I came from a more traditional background — professionally trained, office etiquette drilled in, with experience running my own business and working across different industries. So, stepping into this world was a bit of a culture shock.

But honestly? I’ve never felt like I could be myself at any other job before this. Walking into a space full of laughter, banter, and people just being unapologetically themselves has been refreshing. The day I was casually offered a beer at work? Absolute chef’s kiss.

The artists, the clients, the art, the culture — it’s all been such a joy to experience. I’m completely enamored and very much looking forward to learning, growing, and soaking up even more of this incredible industry.
